QR Code for your smart phone

This may seem a bit nerdy, but here goes anyway. You may have seen codes like the one in this image. These are the next generation of the familiar bar code, they are 2d instead of 1d like a bar code. The result is that they can include a lot more information. They are also very simple to generate and to read. Any smart phone with a camera should be able to read them. There are apps for the iphone. My android phone has one called barcode scanner. If I use the phone to scan this image, it takes me immediately to the web site that this code points to, in this case, our club web site.

Show and Shine 2010

Eighteen Sunrise Rotarians, their spouses, kids and friends were out for the smoothie and burger sale and Show N Shine today. It has become a well oiled machine, everything went smoothie, er . . , I mean smoothly.

Thanks to everyone.

Here are some photos and even a video of Mr Smoothie himself making a mango smoothie. My apologies for the photo and video quality, best I could do with a cell phone.

Visioning

Lauren Gannon lead a small group of our members tonight through the 3rd (or is it the 4th) Visioning session. We have canceled the evening meeting on April 27, 2010 as there are too many of our incoming executive away that evening. We are planning to extend our normal one hour meeting on the morning of June 1 to 3 hours (7 am to 10 am) to discuss, fine tune and adopt the long term plan that is being developed in these sessions.

In the meantime, here are some photos of your team at work tonight.
